Maybe this will help you understand….
When something “bad” happens to me I go through a couple things.
1. I cry. Frustration doesn’t gradually kick in. It floods my system. I feel the pain instantly and the only way I have of releasing it are tears.
2. I overthink. My imagination makes up a billion different outcomes and while some are great, some are horrible. In my experience only the bad scenarios happen. Hence why….
3. I become extremely stressed. My impatience kicks in and I freak out because waiting for something bad to happen is the worst feeling in the whole world.
I wish that were all steps I could skip but I can’t. When you have waited years for something it’s harder than when you just came to terms with it.
